Light,
yet strong natural foods in the House of Bamboo.
An
Apple A Day
'An apple a day keeps the doctor away,' is
a very familiar old saying. Whether it's true or not, apples are
among one of the healthiest natural foods offered by Mother Nature
herself.
A medium sized apple contains a scant 80 calories,
and is a good source for fiber. Apples also contain boron,
a mineral that helps minimize calcium losses which is a contributor
to osteoporosis.
A tasty low calorie diet recipe is as follows:
Place 1 apple, cored but not peeled, into
a microwave container and cook until tender - about 5 minutes. Remove;
add ground cinnamon, no calorie butter spray, and a few packets
of no calorie sweetener - or use a dab of real butter and a spoon
of sugar if you want to go totally natural. With the reduced
additives, the calorie count remains at 80 calories for this delicious,
filling diet treat.
